Child safety standards
Startell Media · last updated 19 October 2026
Our position
Startell Media has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and any sexualised content involving minors. Content or behaviour of this kind is not allowed in or through our app, and we will remove it and report it.
Who the app is for
Startell Media is a tool for people who make short videos. It is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13.
What the app does today
The app helps a creator plan and film videos on their own phone. Videos are recorded and edited on the device. The app does not host a public feed, does not let users message each other, and does not publish users' content to other users.
If we add features where people can contact each other
Before any feature that lets users find, message or share content with other users goes live, we will add: in-app reporting for every user and every piece of shared content; blocking; removal of content and accounts that break these standards; and a human review of reports. Accounts for people under 13 will not be allowed.
How we respond
- We review reports of CSAE and act on them promptly.
- We remove violating content and permanently remove the accounts responsible.
- We report CSAM and other illegal content involving minors to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where required, and we cooperate with law enforcement.
Report a concern
Email noam@startell.com. The person who receives it is responsible for our child safety compliance and can discuss our CSAM prevention practices.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
